Venue

The first week of the school, which will consist on lectures covering most aspects of long-baseline interferometry, will be held online on Zoom.

The second week of the school, which will mainly consist in practice sessions, will take place on the Porquerolles Island in Provence (Southern France) at the Igesa - Village Club - Porquerolles

Attendance to the first week of online lecture is mandatory to participate to the onsite practice sessions

Accommodation

Lodging in twin bedrooms and meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) will be covered by the school and provided at the Igesa - Village Club - Porquerolles

The meals will be buffet-style and accessible from 7:15-9:15 (breakfast), 12h15-13h15 (lunch), and 19h15-20h15 (dinner). Vegetarian options will be available.

How to reach the School?

Ferries to the island are available from the Tour Fondue Terminal in Hyères (last ferry departure to Porquerolles at 6:30 pm CEST on Sunday 22nd).

From Nice Airport

Free transportation in bus from Nice airport to the ferry terminal in Hyères (and from Hyères to Nice airport) and ferry to the Island will be provided by the School. On September 22nd, the bus will depart from Nice airport around 3pm CEST (no later than 4pm). On September 28th, the bus will arrive at the Nice Airport at around 4pm CEST.

 

From Toulon Train Station

For those travelling in train, the closest station served by fast train (TGV)  is in Toulon. From this station, you can take a local train (TER) to Hyères, then the Bus 67 from Hyères train station to la Tour Fondue stop, and then the ferry to Porquerolles (last ferry departure to Porquerolles at 6:30 pm CEST on Sunday 22nd).

In Car

There is a possiblity to park at the Tour Fondue terminal but the parking is quite expensive (100€/week). Free parking are available in Hyères and the boat terminal can be reach using the bus 67 (last ferry departure to Porquerolle at 6:30 pm CEST on Sunday 22nd).
